Acupuncture is a natural and effective form of health care, dating back to China over 2000 years, it is one of the oldest health care practices in the world. Acupuncture takes a holistic approach and provides a much deeper understanding of the function of the body and disease processes. Acupuncture focuses on the prevention of illness as much as on the treatment.
Acupuncture treatment involves the insertion of fine, sterile needles into points along the body’s meridians to clear energy blockages and encourage the normal flow of qi. Acupuncture is very gentle and generally painless. Mitch works on a meridian based style and is an expert in pain relief and management.

Firstly, Mitch will perform a thorough assessment as to the why behind each individual injury. This will include a combination of muscle testing, range of motion testing, and an assessment of the individual’s mechanics to determine what muscles are creating the problem or are inhibited due to injury.
Functional Sports Acupuncture was developed with the understanding of neurology and the functions of muscles. The first step to treatment with acupuncture is an assessment of which muscles may be contributing to the condition. Once this is defined, Mitch will be able to find the points in which nerves meet those muscles, known as motor points. When an acupuncture needle is used on a motor point, it causes a twitch response and releases tight contracted bands of muscle – like hitting a reset button on the muscle. This often results in immediate pain relief and improved muscle strength.
In addition to traditional trigger point needling, Mitch uses soft tissue therapies including cupping, Gua Sha and massage to relieve pain, increase flexibility and mobility. This can enhance daily and athletic performance. Following his assessment and initial treatment, Mitch will establish a treatment plan that is tailor-made to your specific condition.

Once the muscle imbalances have been addressed, you must get back to the activities you have been avoiding but at a lighter level. When a muscle has been shut off for a period of time, the body has learned to compensate by moving differently (usually in a way that causes pain).
Now that all muscles are back to full length and strength it's time to get them moving by doing light exercise to retrain the brain and body how to move the way it used to. After a period of repatterning, it's time to increase workouts to something more challenging and come periodically for acupuncture to maintain the correct movement pattern and keep things moving forward as planned.
Esoteric acupuncture combines the esoteric philosophy handed down by the Master Djwahl Khul and the ancient art of acupuncture. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the heart is the centre, "the Emperor." When treating any imbalance in the body, we must go to the heart. CANCELLATION POLICY
If you need to reschedule, Mitch will always do his best to accommodate you. If you need to reschedule or cancel an appointment, please give Mitch at least 24 hours notice so that he can offer that time to another person who needs it. Late notice (within 12 hours) or no shows will be charged at the full appointment fee.
Due to back to back bookings, late arrival will result in a shorter session.
